Lake Biwa, Japan. Separated from the tree that once sustained it, a weathered branch rests alone in silky waters, graceful and abstract with organic curves. Remembrance II considers what endures after separation: memory, survival and the continuing connection to what is no longer physically present. Its solitude carries a sense of loss, yet the luminous water surrounding it holds beauty as well.
