Ritual Gate
Bayon Temple, Angkor Thom, Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia. In the spirit of a Japanese Torii Gate, RITUAL GATE captures a threshold — both architectural and symbolic — where passage becomes ritual though the weathered ruins of a stone gate or door of a Buddhist temple. Light adds to the sense of consecration as warm tones of gold and earth deepen the sense of reverence amid the ruins, creating a sense of impermanence, endurance, and the sacred.
